Do wisdom teeth always need to come out? Not always. Lily, our LS ToothBuddy, explains when they arrive, when they cause trouble, and how the dentist decides — in under a minute.
Here's What's Going On
Wisdom teeth are the last teeth to arrive, usually in the late teens or twenties.
They sit right at the very back, and there isn't always enough room for them.
Sometimes they come in fine, and don't need to be removed at all.
Trouble starts when they get stuck, cause pain, or are too hard to clean.
A simple x-ray helps the dentist see what's happening and decide what's best.
