Dental Treatment

Myobrace

Correct the root causes of crooked teeth early — without traditional braces or extractions.

Myobrace is a preventive orthodontic system using a series of removable intra-oral appliances designed for children aged 3 to 15. Unlike traditional braces that only straighten teeth, Myobrace targets the underlying causes of crooked teeth — mouth breathing, incorrect tongue posture, poor swallowing habits, and facial muscle imbalances. The appliances are worn for 1–2 hours during the day and overnight. Combined with guided exercises called Myobrace Activities, this system helps develop the jaw properly and guide teeth into their natural positions during a child's critical growth years.

Signs You May Need This Treatment

  • 1Child breathes through the mouth instead of the nose
  • 2Lips are apart at rest or the child cannot hold lips together
  • 3Tongue thrusting when swallowing
  • 4Thumb-sucking or finger-sucking habits
  • 5Crowded or crooked teeth starting to appear
  • 6Narrow jaw or dental arch
  • 7Child snores or has disturbed sleep
  • 8Child between ages 3 and 15 with developing bite issues

What Happens During Your Visit

1

Initial Consultation & Assessment

The dentist will assess your child's oral habits, jaw development, bite, and overall facial growth. Photographs and records may be taken.

2

Myobrace Appliance Fitting

An appropriate Myobrace appliance is selected based on your child's age and stage of development. The appliance is fitted and your child is shown how to wear and care for it.

3

Myobrace Activities

Your child is taught a series of guided exercises (Myobrace Activities) targeting breathing, tongue positioning, lip control, and swallowing. These are performed twice daily alongside wearing the appliance.

4

Regular Monitoring

The dentist monitors your child's progress at regular appointments, advancing to the next appliance stage as the jaw develops and habits improve.

5

Outcome Review

As treatment progresses through the phases, the jaw develops more space for permanent teeth and teeth are guided into better positions, reducing or eliminating the need for braces later.
