Dental Implant
A permanent, natural-looking tooth replacement anchored directly into the jawbone.
A dental implant is a titanium post that is surgically placed into the jawbone to act as an artificial tooth root. Once healed, a dental crown is attached on top to replace the missing tooth. Dental implants look, feel, and function like natural teeth. They do not rely on adjacent teeth for support, which preserves the health of surrounding teeth. Implants are a long-term solution for missing teeth when compared to bridges or removable dentures.

- 3You are unhappy with the appearance of gaps in your smile
- 4You have an existing denture that feels loose or uncomfortable
- 5You want a permanent alternative to a removable denture
- 6You have a tooth that has been confirmed as needing extraction
What Happens During Your Visit
Initial Consultation & Assessment
The dentist will assess your general health, gum condition, and bone volume. X-rays or a CBCT scan may be taken to evaluate whether there is sufficient bone to support an implant.
Treatment Planning
A detailed treatment plan is prepared. The dentist will explain the number of appointments, the sequence of treatment, and what to expect at each stage.
Implant Placement
Under local anaesthesia, the titanium implant post is carefully placed into the jawbone. The gum is stitched closed and the implant is left to integrate with the bone.
Healing Period (Osseointegration)
Over several months, the implant fuses with the surrounding bone in a process called osseointegration. During this time, a temporary tooth may be provided.
Abutment & Crown Placement
Once the implant is stable, a connecting piece (abutment) is attached, followed by a custom-made dental crown that looks and feels like a natural tooth.
